Born and bred in Johannesburg, South Africa. Joda is an 19 yr old singer/songwriter who began singing at an early age mainly in school and at church.

“Truth Is” made it to Apple Music’s 100 Best Songs of 2020, whilst the EP was chosen by Apple Music as Album of the Month in July 2021 and was well received on radio stations such as YFM. 

Joda plans to explore various sounds as she grows as an artist, while continuing to provide her fans with a raw and surreal listening experience. 

Her debut EP Sour Milk, which was released in July features her lead single “I Miss You”. This follows the success of her notable track “Truth Is” which embodies the story of letting someone go and realizing you don’t need them to feel fulfilled. 

Joda swerves between mellow harmonies and rappy lyrics on her latest single Wavy. This song is a glimpse of her rebel side coming out. Her sassy wordplay is an oh-so-real frame of thought while the beat is shifting and dropping out abruptly.

Imagine Joda cruising on a Jet Ski in an ocean full of Barbies and Kens as she rides off into the sunset. It’s safe to say Joda is here to express herself eclectically while not putting herself in a box sonically. Wavy is a true testament to that as she continues to experiment with new sounds while still sharing what’s on her heart and mind.
